Single Family House and Restaurant Castellet i la Gornal.  The location of this project is the old medieval town of Castellet.  Near the town we can find the Foix River and its dam as well as different tourist attractions.  Among the attractions there is a medieval castle, hiking routes and panoramic views over the river dam.  A main street from the road to the castle divides the town.  Most of the houses are single familly attached dwellings, some of them of medieval origin. The project’s plot is on the south side of the town. It faces to three different streets. On one hand it has access from the main street, while on the back it has access to one of the perimeter streets. Finally, the third facade faces the  street that comunicates both streets.

The project for a Single Family House and Restaurant

An abandoned and destroyed building occupies the plot. The project replaces this buidling.  But, it will occupy only one of the corners. The house will occupy the one located on the main street.  This location leaves the back of the plot free. Therefore the restaurant uses this free space as terrace.  It faces south, so it has views over the lake and sun all year around. The program is divided by floors. First, the restaurant and all its services are located on the ground floor. On the other hand, the housing of the owners is located in the Floor Plan. This house has an open space for the living room and kitchen and several bedrooms. It also has a loft and a terrace.

Traditional decorative elements are used both inside and outside. These can be seen in other buildings in the town. The colors, forms of windows and finishing materials meet the laws of City Hall  for the protection of town heritage.
